Postmortem

Due to a higher load than expected with several institutions releasing their timetable and opening registration, our authentication service got overloaded. This lead to intermittent issues logging in for a few customers, with a main issue peak at 10.20 (CET), Monday 2nd of September.

Issues was detected at 10.10 (CET) and investigation on actions to be taken started directly and was made top priority for the engineering department.

11.54 (CET) some bottlenecks in the service was identified and work to resolve those bottlenecks started.

17.04 (CET) improvements to the service using the authentication service as well as infrastructure was deployed to production, follow by us monitoring of the services with improvement in place.

22:56 (CET) issues was considered resolved as an effect of good performance based on our monitoring.

Issue is identified to our authentication service and limited to a few number of customers in Europe. We are currently working to resolve it and will post continuous updates.
